Release date: 29 October 2026
Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos launched on 29 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, three days after the launch trailer and one month of Croctober updates.
The short version
Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos released on 29 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Argonaut confirmed the date on 1 October 2026 in the same post that announced development was finished, and spent the following month running Croctober, a daily drip of news and reveals that ended at launch.

Why the date was never really in doubt
The 1 October announcement was not a date reveal in the usual sense: it was a completion announcement. Argonaut's post said development was finished and the game would "take off on October 29", which is a much stronger statement than a target window. Three days before launch the launch trailer appeared, and the store page switched from a coming-soon listing to a buy button on the 29th.
That sequence matters if you are checking whether a delayed release is likely. A studio that announces completion a month out, ships a trailer in the final week and keeps its store page live is not a studio signalling a slip.
What Croctober actually was
Argonaut described Croctober as "a whole month of news, updates and surprises all the way to launch and beyond", with a Linktree collecting the posts. In practice it was the marketing run-up: character and village spotlights, the Croc2pedia reveal, and the launch trailer.
The "and beyond" part is the interesting half. It implies post-launch communication was planned from the start, which is why the patch notes page tracks the Steam news feed rather than assuming the launch build is final.
The launch trailer, briefly
The trailer is the best single source for what the game looks like in motion: jungle, snow, lava and ruins in sequence, the four villages named on screen, Soveena and Cannon Keith shown as bosses, and the vehicles — car, boat, minecart, glider, plane — each getting a beat. If you have not bought the game yet, it is the honest two-minute summary.
Platforms on day one
Everything shipped together. There was no staggered release, no early-access window and no platform that waited a week: Steam, GOG, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Switch all went live on 29 October 2026. The platforms and price page has the storefront list.
What this page is for
Release-date pages rot fast: they are written before launch and then never touched. This one is dated, and it will be updated if Argonaut announces a patch, a DLC or a port. The current state is simple — the game is out, the launch build is the one being covered across this site, and the beginner guide is the right next page if you just bought it.
